Where do the Kamanda Bengals Kings and Queens live?
Our cats live on our country side property in an enclosed shed with cat run extensions that contain greenery and engaging toys to further develop their motor skills and playful personalities. The Queens area kept in groups where they are frequently rotated with the Kings to ensure better social prospects as well as allow for better introduction to differing animal personalities, a quality we further ensure in our kittens.
Do you sell unaltered kittens?
We only sell desexed kittens unless a family is undertaking the care of a future Queen under our guardian program.
Do you offer stud services?
We are a closed cattery but in special circumstances will offer stud services to select registered breeders.
How do I know if my Bengal is a purebred?
You can only guarantee your Bengal is purebred if you buy from a registered breeder who provides you with a pedigree for your kitten.
Are Bengals suitable for apartment living?
Apartment living can be tricky, it depends on the size of the apartment and your willingness to adapt your home to offer lots of activities for your Bengal. Given Bengals are easily socialised to being on a lead, if you plan to take your Bengal out then you may find an apartment is perfectly fine.
Can Bengals be an outdoor cat?
Bengals should be kept indoors, unless in an enclosed area outdoors or on a lead. As prolific hunters, it’s important they are not left on their own as the effect can be devastating to wildlife. They are also beautiful and expensive, therefore being prone to theft.
Are Bengals good with children?
Yes! Provided they are socialised properly.
Do Bengals really play fetch?
Yes! It’s one of their adorable talents.
Are Bengals vocal?
Some are, some aren’t – it really depends on the particular Bengal and their bloodlines.
Will a Bengal get on with my dog? My other cat?
Bengals often get on very well with dogs, and two Bengals can be easier that one!
What are Bengals like?
With their high energy levels in most Bengal lines, they are also mischievous, comedic crazies and will be unlike any cat you have met or owned before. Offered a suitable home and engagement with their families, owning a Bengal is both enriching and rewarding!
Do Bengals need exercise?
Yes, walks and exercise wheels are favourites.
Can I train my Bengal?
Absolutely, it’s one of their best qualities – they are trainable much like a dog.
Can I walk my Bengal on a lead?
Yes, we would be happy to provide guidance on how to lead train your Bengal.
Is it true Bengals don’t like to be cuddled or picked up?
This is a myth! But pick up your kitten early, cuddle him or her and get them used to being handled.
Do Bengals really like belly rubs?
They sure do!
Are Bengal hypoallergenic?
Yes, many are. In our lines, some are more hypoallergenic than others. If this is an issue for you, we can recommend which of our lines will be most suitable for you.
Do Bengals shed?
Bengals have a single layer pelt and shed much less than other cats.
How do I introduce my Bengal to water and swimming?
This is part of the fun of owning a Bengal, introduce them early and often. We would be happy to provide more information if this is of interest.
What is the safest way to travel with a Bengal in a car?
Use a seat belt or cat carrier, one of our Bengals loves to lay on the dashboard (when the car is not moving) but this is not recommended.
What age can I have my Bengal kitten?
Your kitten will be available at the age of 12 weeks.
What is the cost of a Bengal kitten?
The cost is dependent on the colour of the kitten and the bloodline he or she comes from. Please reach out to us to discuss.
Do they come with a starter pack?
Your kitten will come with instructions on how to care for him or her and some sample items.
Will my kitten come with insurance?
Your kitten will come with free temporary insurance which you can choose to extend at your cost if you wish.
Are you registered? Will my cat be registered?
We are a registered breeder and your kitten will be registered as well.
How do I get on the waitlist?
Please contact us to discuss upcoming litters and what you are looking for, we will then send you an application so that you can be added to the waitlist.
How long is the waitlist?
This depends on the time of year, how many kittens we have coming up and the size of the litters we have. We would be happy to discuss with you in further detail once you let us know what you are looking for, so that we can match you with a suitable kitten.
Can I view the parents?
You are more than welcome to see the parents prior to buying your kitten, visits are limited to reduce the risk to our cats and kittens and video visits are encouraged, especially for those out of state.
